A foodie birthday afternoon

Raw winter salad - Au Cheval

So it was my husband’s birthday and we decided to go out for lunch instead of dinner for the first time in 15 years…This is because we’re trying to sleep-train our 10 month old, who now goes to bed around 7pm. Up until Hannah was 9 months old, she would come to dinner with us and fall asleep in my arms, car seat or stroller. She loved going out to restaurants and we were pretty spoiled. We typically eat between 9 and 10 pm which is ridiculously late, but a habit that seems impossible to break. So no more late dinners out for mom, dad and baby.

What do you mean I can’t go to lunch with you! I’ve got on a new Duck Dynasty onesie and my new Green Bay Packers sippie cup just for dad’s birthday!

The last time we were at Au Cheval I was 9 months pregnant enjoying the best cheeseburger in town at 10pm at night after a long day at K/BIS – so our visit was long overdue.

No caption needed. Photo from Au Cheval.

Can't think of a better place to spend a rainy February afternoon.

The birthday boy with a beer - that's something new :)

A little visit to Publican Quality Meats around the corner for some Boudin Noir for dinner. Just what we need after the lunch we had - yikes - a bit on the indulgent side today.

I love walls like this - it makes me want to live here.
